Retired members of academic staff are encouraged to continue their participation in University activities.

The following provisions apply to retired members of academic staff who had ten years' continuous service in the University before retiring:

(a) eligibility for borrowing rights in the University Library and the use of other library services subject to availability,
(b) eligibility for an annual parking permit at a fee equivalent to the staff rate, and
(c) eligibility to join University organisations whose membership is open to staff, subject to meeting membership requirements.

These provisions do not affect the existing rights of Heads of Schools to make School facilities available to retired staff for academic purposes when resources make this possible.

Note: Emeritus Professors and Visiting/Adjunct Professors are eligible for free on-site car parking.
