Career Development

Career Development is a lifelong process of developing skills, knowledge and attributes.  Career Development can support the requirements of a current position as well as focus on developing skills required for future career opportunities.

Career Development support may be provided through many different types of activities.  These may include on-the-job coaching, acting in a higher position, internal temporary transfers, attendance at training courses or conferences, self-paced learning modules, networking and mentor relationships, job rotation or project and research work, progress through broadbanded positions, additional leave, involvement in internal or external committees or conferences, and work or study support or fellowships and financial support for study, etc.

This process is provided for in Clause 25.0 of the UNSW (General Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2006 (the Agreement ).
