Useful Information

The UNSW website contains a wealth of information that will be helpful to you, however to get you started, here are a few of the things that you may find useful.

What do you want to learn more about:

Pay

Salary is paid fortnightly (every second Thursday) calculated up to and including the Thursday. Payment is made to a bank, building society or credit union account nominated by the employee. The University’s flexible payroll system allows deductions to be arranged for items such as life assurance premiums, medical and hospital fund contributions, and credit union deposits or repayments.

Details of the specific pay days are found on the 2009 UNSW Pay & Holiday Calendar.

Payslips are posted electronically to myUNSW. all you need is your Staf ID and Unipass to access this.

If you have any queries regarding pay, please contact the Salaries department at salaries@unsw.edu.au or call 9385 1706

Salary Sacrificing

Salary sacrificing is a way of providing flexible remuneration planning. The principle aim of salary sacrificing is to legitimately restructure the way you receive your salary to suit your individual needs and potentially maximise your take home pay. This is achieved by allowing you to receive part of your salary in the form of benefits rather than receiving it all as salary.

Benefits available include:

  • Child Care
  • Electronic Diary or Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)
  • Laptop or Notebook Computers
  • Lifestyle Clinic (UNSW Medicine)
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Parking
  • Superannuation
  • Unigym Membership
  • Association of Tertiary Education Management
UNSW Workplace Giving Program

UNSW employees can now be part of a very effective program, why don't you get involved?

More details about salary sacrificing are available on the HR Website.
