Chem Alert and Web Browsers

Chem Alert works with the following browsers:
 
 Using Windows:  Using Macintosh:
 Internet Explorer 6.0  Mozilla Firefox 1.x
 Internet Explorer 7.0  Firefox 2.0.
 
Problems are associated with the following browsers:
 
 Safari
 Netscape
 Opera
 
as these browsers don't conform sufficently with the W3C and Java standards.


Chem Alert and Pop-Up Blocker Messages

By default, Internet Explorer has it's own pop-up blocker and so does the Google Toolbar. Here are the two settings that need to be changes for pop-ups to allow the Chemalert website to work.
 
Google Toolbar
  • On the far right hand side of the Google Toolbar, click ->"Settings"->"Options".
  • As shown below, click on the "More" tab, uncheck "Enable Pop-up Blocker" and click OK.

Internet Explorer Pop-ups
  • Go to "Tools"->"Pop-up Blocker"->"Pop-up Blocker Settings".
  • As shown below, add the Chemalert address and click "Add" and then click "Close".
