House at Pooh Corner History
House at Pooh Corner was established in July 1969 by the UNSW Student's Union in response to the growing need for accessible, affordable, quality childcare for students on campus. This remains our primary purpose. The centre caters to 72 children each day aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. Children are separated into age groups as follows:
Hours of operation
The centre's hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Parents needing to leave their child before 8.30am, or collect the child after 5.30pm, go on the Early or Late List by arrangement with the Director. This is to ensure that there are enough staff on duty early and late in the day. No children under two are permitted to be on the late list. The centre is open 48 weeks each year. We close for 4 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period
Priority Access
First priority goes to children of students at UNSW, then staff and then to the general community.
