HISTORY

Honeypot has a proud history of student activism -it opened at the beginning of 1992 by a couple of student parents who were frustrated by the lack of child care spaces available on campus. They recognised that child care was an equity and access issue, and set about establishing a centre which provided affordable, good quality child care.

PHILOSOPHY

Full details of our philosophy and policies can be provided on request. In short, we are primarily a service for UNSW student parents, and aim to:
  • Provide high quality, flexible, affordable child care that meets the study needs of parents
  • Provide a program that meets the individual and developmental needs of each and every child attending the centre.
  • Help children develop a positive self esteem, and a positive attitude to learning and interacting with others.

STAFF/PROGRAM

Honeypot is staffed by trained and/or experienced child care professionals who plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs each week, based on individual observations of each child's progress.

The centre is located in a purpose built facility which includes a separate Nursery, and Toddler/Preschool room, and is designed to provide a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment for children and parents

All food and drinks (with the exception of formula) are provided. We are able to accommodate most special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, low lactose, etc) with sufficient notice

For further information, call or email the Honeypot Director. Tours of the Centre are by appointment only.
