Associate Lecturer - Higher Duties Allowance INFORMATION PAPER
Clause 16.0(f) of the UNSW (Academic Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2006 provides for a Higher Duties Allowance (HDA) to be paid when an Associate Lecturer is required by the University to take over the duties of a Lecturer for longer than five continuous working days. HDA is not intended to recompense Associate Lecturers who believe they are performing duties at the Lecturer level, but rather to cover an absence of a Lecturer from her or his position. For example, if a Lecturer is on approved leave and an Associate Lecturer is required by the University to perform the Lecturer's duties, a Higher Duties Allowance is payable. The allowance paid will be recommended by the Head of School but will be at least the minimum point of the Lecturer's scale and no more than the salary of the person whose duties are taken over. |
