New Enterprise Bargaining Negotiations between UNSW and union representatives for new enterprise bargaining agreements began in April 2009. Weekly meetings have been held since May 2009. The University has put forward a position that employment conditions at UNSW are fundamentally sound and have enabled UNSW and its staff to achieve many successes. To avoid protracted negotiations and disputation in a difficult economic environment, UNSW has proposed that the parties agree to roll over the terms of the existing UNSW (Academic Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2006 and the UNSW (General Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2006 and negotiate a reasonable and affordable salary increase. This proposal has been rejected by union representatives and bargaining negotiations are ongoing. Frequently asked questions on industrial action |
