Salary Level 5/6: A$51K - A$63K per year depending on qualifications and experience (plus up to 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading)

The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, being one of the major schools of the Faculty of Engineering, ranked within the world's top twenty by the Times Higher Education Supplement in 2005 and 2006, has been active in excellent research and teaching for almost fifty years. It is one of Australia's largest schools of Mechanical Engineering, having forty academic and research staff members and twenty-nine professional and technical staff members. Research and teaching activities are supported by excellent laboratory and workshop facilities with office and laboratory space in two buildings.

The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering seeks a Computing Support Officer, to be part of a team which will ensure the effective use of IT systems and services for teaching, research and administration within the School.

Applicants must have completed a tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar discipline or equivalent experience and have a demonstrated ability to solve problems in complex systems and follow through on both small tasks and larger projects. They must have a good background in programming and administration on Windows systems as well as an understanding of fundamental computer system technologies and experience in dealing with computer hardware problems.

This is a fixed term full time for 3 years with possibility for extension.
