SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN NEURO-ONCOLOGY

Applications are called for a senior biomedical researcher to establish a Neuro-oncology Unit at the Lowy Cancer Research Centre University of New South Wales (UNSW), Kensington Campus, Sydney, Australia.
This senior position has been established by the Cure for Life Foundation an organisation which is dedicated to supporting translational research into brain tumours. The Translational Neuro-oncology Unit will be one of the key research programs in the new Lowy Cancer Research Centre which will house up to 400 cancer researchers and will be the only fully integrated adult and childhood cancer research centre in Australia.
The Centre will open in November 2009 and will provide access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure, including microscopy and animal facilities. The Lowy Cancer Research Centre sits adjacent to three large teaching hospitals - Prince of Wales, Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney Children's Hospital and Neuroscience is one of the major strengths of this clinical campus.
This position is fixed-term for five years and comes with support for the employment of research staff and ancillary costs. The University reserves the right to fill the position by invitation. EEO groups are encouraged to apply. The current salary rate for Professor is A$142,957 per year. The current salary rate for Associate Professor is A$111,774 - A$122,776. The current salary rate for Senior Lecturer is A$93,428 - $107,188
