Salary level 6: A$62K - A$66K per year plus 9% employer superannuation plus leave loading
 
The School of Optometry and Vision Science Optometry Clinic requires a Staff Optometrist with speciality in contact lenses on a one year fixed term to cover maternity leave. The primary purpose of this role is to provide tuition and clinical supervision to final year undergraduate students. The role will also give the successful applicant the opportunity practice full scope optometry in our specialist contact lens clinics which attract referrals from across NSW. We are a team oriented optometry clinic and are proud of the compliments we receive regarding the level of patient care we demonstrate.
 
This role is for you if: you are a dedicated optometrist with experience in a specialty practice a bonus and a desire to further develop your already well established optometry skills; You have experience teaching students at an undergraduate level and a desire to further your teaching career;  You enjoy working in a customer service oriented business environment;  You are well organized and independent, but a team player; You desire an environment where hard work and quality performance is rewarded.
 
The School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) Optometry Clinic is a university teaching clinic located in Sydney's eastern suburbs, and provides the clinical teaching component for fourth and fifth year undergraduate students. The clinic has a special interest and expertise across a broad number of areas including advanced diagnosis of ocular disease, advanced contact lens fitting, ocular therapeutics, glaucoma diagnosis, colour vision, and vision training for binocular vision disorders.
 
This is a full time fixed term appointment available for 12 months.
