Applications are invited for up to two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the ocean-atmosphere and climate research group within the CCRC, the Faculty of Science, University of New South Wales. The ocean-atmosphere and climate group comprises a team of scientists aiming to further our understanding of the global climate system and in particular the role of the ocean circulation in climate change and climate variability. This particular project aims to investigate the nature of coupled ocean-carbon-atmosphere feedbacks operating in the global climate system, both in the context of past and present climates. The successful candidate will work on the project within a research team comprising Professor Matthew England, Dr. Willem Sijp, and several PhD students. There is scope for successful candidates to shape a role that suits their particular strengths, background and interests.

These positions can be negotiated for an initial appointment period of between 1 and 3 years. Starting date is also negotiable, though preferably before 31 August 2008. For overseas applicants and returning Australians, funding is available to cover part or all of their relocation costs.

The salary range for a Post Doctoral Fellow is A$63,905 - A$68,354 per year (plus up to 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading.
