The School of Banking and Finance is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professor) in Finance within the Australian School of Business.
 
Banking and Finance is a major school within the Australian School of Business. It has distinguished Honors, Masters, and PhD programs in finance, Australia's highest ranking MBA program, and attracts some of the best students in Australia and abroad. It is highly ranked in both research and teaching.
 
The University of New South Wales is located close to both Sydney's Central Business District and some of the world's most striking beaches, attractions, weather, and views.

The successful applicant is expected to teach both undergraduate and/or postgraduate classes in corporate finance and/or asset pricing. We seek applicants with PhD degrees or who are expected to complete their degree requirements in the next academic year. The primary selection criteria are expected or demonstrated excellence in publishing in top finance journals and fostering a creative learning environment for students. An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Although the initial contract is for a fixed term, however a successful applicant may be considered for a continuing (i.e., "tenured") appointment based on outstanding performance during the period.

Members of the faculty will be attending the FMA meetings in Reno NV in October 2009 and the AFA meetings in Atlanta, GA in January 2010, at which time interviews will be scheduled. The full professors of finance at UNSW are Mike Aitken, Wolfgang Bühler, David Feldman, Robert Kohn, Fariborz Moshirian, Peter Swan and Neal Stoughton.
