Lecturer in Sculpture/Performance/Installation (Part-time)

The College of Fine Arts (COFA) is seeking to appoint a part time Lecturer to its School of Art into the area of Sculpture/Performance/Installation. COFA, a Faculty of the University of New South Wales is one of Australia's premier art and design schools.
 
COFA provides Art, Design, Media, Art History and Art Education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It also undertakes extensive studio, theoretical and historical research into each of these fields.
 
The School of Art offers courses into each of COFA's coursework programs and has primary responsibility for the disciplines of Painting, Drawing, Printmaking and Sculpture/Performance/Installation at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels.  With the continuing growth of the students in the School of Art, particularly in the postgraduate and research programs, there is a need for a lecturer with experience in the area of Sculpture/Performance/Installation to join the School.
 
This Lecturer will have knowledge and experience of the field and support the School's strategic aims. These aims include giving greater emphasis to cross-disciplinary contemporary projects as well as a current aim of the discipline which focuses on sustainable practice. The successful applicant will have experience in tertiary teaching and research supervision and show proven professional standing within a contemporary, international context.  The applicant will undertake coordination roles within the School and undertake high quality research and student supervision and engage in related professional activities that further enhance our reputation. A record of grant applications and an interest in cross-disciplinary practice will be highly regarded.
 
The successful applicant will lead the Environmental Research Initiative in Art and demonstrate an ability to undertake this role. The applicant is required to have a current electronics qualifications (or equivalent) to undertake this role.
 
This part time (0.5) position is available for a 2-year fixed term.  The salary range for Lecturer is A$76,921 - A$90,680 per year (pro rata for fractional appointments), depending on qualifications and experience (plus up to 17% employer superannuation, plus leave loading). The University reserves the right to fill the above position by invitation or not to fill the position.
