LECTURER IN SOCIAL WORK
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
REF. 5494NET

Salary level: A$71,779 - A$84,618 per year depending on qualifications and experience (plus 17% employer superannuation, plus leave loading).

The School of Social Sciences and International Studies (SSIS) is located in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The School started operating as a new school in February 2007 following a major restructuring of the Faculty. The new School brings together the former schools of Politics and International Relations, Social Science and Policy, Sociology and Anthropology, and Social Work, creating a strong and dynamic new research environment. Our research scholars occupy leading positions in research institutes, academia, and both the public sector and private sector in this country and overseas. We are a lively group of colleagues committed to research, writing and teaching.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences wants to expand its research expertise and enhance its teaching capacity in the Social Work programs, which consist of the Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Couple and Family Therapy, Master of Social Work in Counselling and Master of Social Development.  We are therefore looking for an energetic teacher and scholar who will make an effective contribution to research and to teaching, specifically in the Bachelor of Social Work program in the field education courses and in the introductory and advanced practice courses relating to social work with individuals, families and groups.

This is a 3-year full-time position with the option to make continuing subject to satisfactory performance against agreed criteria.

Applicants should systematically address the selection criteria in their application.  Women and people from equity groups are encouraged to apply.
