GENERAL MANAGER

The University of New South Wales is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to the position of General Manager, Faculty of Science. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Faculty General Manager will be responsible for the effective management of all strategic and operational support functions of the Faculty which include Finance, Student Administration, Marketing and Public Affairs, IT and Workshops.
The General Manager will provide high level policy advice to the Dean and the Faculty Executive to ensure the Faculty's key objectives are achieved, as well as deliver effective administrative management to ensure the Faculty can best respond to challenges and opportunities.
The successful candidate will have superior financial and budget management skills and qualifications, as well as strong executive management and leadership experience, preferably gained in an academic environment. The General Manager will actively manage multiple, complex projects, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate under the terms of a performance-based contract for a fixed-term of up to five years.
