Salary Level C: A$93K - A$107K (plus up to 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading)
The Viral Hepatitis Epidemiology and Prevention Program in the National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced postdoctoral researcher to develop and manage our viral hepatitis surveillance activities and to initiate original, and provide support for ongoing, epidemiological, social and behavioural research examining risk behaviour and blood-borne virus transmission among injecting drug users.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics and/or public health. They will continue to build upon the National Centreâs work in the area of enhanced surveillance activities for viral hepatitis, as well as having the opportunity to initiate and implement original epidemiological, social and/or behavioural research with a focus on risk behaviour and blood-borne virus transmission among injecting drug users. They will be expected to analyse data and produce high quality manuscripts suitable for submission to peer-reviewed journals; to maintain and expand collaborative links with other research groups and government and non-government organisations; and to provide support and advice to key collaborators, particularly the Kirketon Road Centre, and other staff within the National Centre.
This is a full time, fixed term position for 2 years with a strong possibility of extension. The successful applicant may be required to undertake a criminal record check.
