The School is at the forefront of research into silicon photovoltaic cells and of undergraduate education in photovoltaic and renewable energy engineering. It administers two undergraduate engineering degree programs, combined degree programs, a postgraduate coursework program and research training programs. It incorporates the ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence. The School has strong international collaborative links and exciting commercialisation activities in photovoltaics technology. The School has teaching activities in many aspects of energy efficiency and renewable energy engineering, including photovoltaics, bio energy, wind energy, solar thermal, policy for renewable energy or development, and life cycle assessment. Student numbers are growing and are expected to be strongly increased in 2008 by enhanced numbers of international students, particularly from China.
This is a fixed term appointment ending 31 December 2010.
