LGBTIQ terminology
ally@UNSW is a network of trained staff and students who are welcoming and sensitive to the issues faced by the LGBTIQ community. Allies can provide confidential support and referral advice to LGBTIQ staff and students at the University.
Learning and understanding terms relating to diverse genders, sexes and sexualities helps to foster respectful, inclusive and safe environments for LGBTIQ people, both at UNSW and in the wider community.
