Support during the Postal Survey

Workplace Diversity encourages anyone who may be feeling upset or distressed by messages and opinions brought up by the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey to reach out for support. UNSW Counselling and Psychological Services have created a page which provides links to a range of useful resources.

Contact an Ally
UNSW's Ally Network aims to ensure that the University is a safe and welcoming place for all staff and students who identify as LGBTIQ. The network comprises staff and students who have completed Ally training, and can provide safe, confidential support by listening to LGBTIQ colleagues / peers.
Workplace Diversity
Workplace Diversity has trained professionals who can provide advice and assistance on LGBTIQ matters for staff. First point of contact is UNSW's Workplace Diversity Officer.
UNSW Employee Assistance Program
Davidson Trahaire Corpsych is the University’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider. The EAP provides free and confidential counselling for employees and immediate family members. Their clinicians are trained to support people who identify as LGBTIQ.

Pride in Diversity  
UNSW is a member of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTI workplace inclusion.
The Gender Centre  
The Gender Centre develops and provides services and activities to enhance the ability of transgender and gender diverse people to make informed choices. Its website contains articles and other educational material about the needs of transgender and gender diverse people.
Twenty10, incorporating the Gay & Lesbian Counselling Service of NSW, is a community-based, non-profit, state-wide organisation, working with and supporting people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities, their families and communities.
QLife is a national telephone and web counselling service for LGBTI people, families and friends.
Services available 3pm to midnight, everyday.
