PDS Training and Support
What learning and development support will be available?
A range of resources are available including:
- Customised work unit based training and information sessions (refer to your HR Manager in the first instance)
- PDS Resource books for both reviewers and reviewees
- PDS forms – total of 2 x forms (Achievements and Priorities & Career Planning and Development)
- Advice from your HR Client Services Team member or People and Culture Development Consultant.
I would like feedback on my ability to give and receive constructive feedback at the PDS meeting - can an impartial third party observer attend?
The response your staff member has to your feedback is probably the most reliable source of feedback on this, as they are the receiver – so they are your measure. Use your observation skills. You also might want to consider asking the question directly at the completion of the discussion.
You can consider a third person however this request must be explained and agreed to by both the Reviewer and staff member in advance of the PDS meeting. Remember that there is an implicit power imbalance in the review meeting and so this needs to be approached in a very careful and considered way.
