Operational Plans

What is the workshop about?

The ability to engage staff in operational planning is a key management skill. This course will introduce you to what is required to create an operational plan that is responsive and relevant, and to which your team is engaged in the design and implementation.

Key Content

  • The relationship between strategy, operational and individual work and development plans
  • A plain-English framework for operational planning
  • An understanding of a range of tools to assist in the planning process, and communication strategy
  • Tools to monitor and evaluate the plan

Key Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • Determine the key content areas for your own plan (based on its audience)
  • Develop an operational goal from staff input and ideas that is linked to the UNSW Australia strategic directions
  • Set and communicate operational direction for team
  • Clarify expected outcomes from a team based planning process
  • Evaluate and monitor implementation of your operational plan
