Academic & Professional Women in Leadership (AWIL & PWIL)

The AWIL & PWIL Program aims to assist participants to respond to the issues and opportunities that they face, in a way that supports a successful leadership career.

Program Purpose

To build the capability of high potential academic women in UNSW, empowering them to strive for career progression and become more confident and effective leaders within the University.

The Horizon Program is a pilot program that has been designed as part of UNSW’s commitment to developing our current and future professional staff leaders. The program will provide a targeted opportunity to accelerate the development of the participants as well as capabilities for Strategy 2025. Horizon Program is driven by a strong partnership between UNSW and KPMG.
The program features a rich blend of multi-functional and cross-industry experience, underpinned by a professional leadership education program.

Developing Leaders
Developing Managers in Organisations

Leaders have tremendous influence over how employees feel about their jobs. By developing a strong leadership team, you can help your Faculty, Division or Unit to be successful. In this course, learn how to develop exceptional managers who can lead with confidence.
Leadership expert Roberta Matuson outlines the qualities possessed by great managers, and explains how to go about helping your managers acquire the skills needed to inspire and retain talent within their teams. She also explains how to assemble a training strategy that prepares first-time managers and experienced managers alike, as well as how to measure its effectiveness.
