Casual Recruitment Purpose

UNSW is committed to recruiting staff in accordance with merit based selection principles. This procedure sets out how these principles should be applied in relation to the engagement of casual staff.
 
 
The recruitment of casual staff is not covered by the Recruitment and Selection Procedure. Nevertheless, casual work openings provide a good opportunity for people to gain valuable work experience at UNSW, particularly for students and entry level workers. For this reason, it is important that applicants experience a professional and fair recruitment process, and that the process creates a good impression of UNSW.
 
 
The purpose of this Procedure is to outline minimum requirements and guidelines for recruiting casuals at UNSW, consistent with principles of merit based selection.
